To prepare for the 2024 Agenda of the Strategic Business and Investment Cooperation between Viet Nam and Northern Territory, from Feb 28th to March 03rd Mr Nguyễn Ngọc Mỹ – Deputy Chairman of the Vietnam’s Association for Foreign Invested Enterprises (VAFIE) – Chairman of the Northern Territory – Vietnam Business Council (NTVBC) accompanied the VN Consulate General to Western Australia & Northern Territory – Madam Nguyễn Thanh Hà visiting and meeting with a number of NT Government Agencies.
At the meeting with NT Chamber of Commerce, the discussion has focused on Visa application for the golf tour & business delegation came from Vietnam to research the market and setting up the relations for business and investment cooperation, especially the coming seminar on Vietnam – Northern Territory Investment Cooperation to be scheduled in Ha Noi on March 29th 2024. Mr Greg Ireland – CEO of NT Chamber of Commerce appreciated the 2024 Agenda of NT-VN Investment Cooperation presented by Mr Nguyễn Ngọc Mỹ. NT Chamber of Commerce expressed their support and willing to assign members to participate the seminar online from distance, as well as considering to send a delegation to Ha Noi for direct meeting if conditional possible. Together attending the meeting, there are Mr Rohan Badenhop – NT Industry Councils Manager, and Mr Daryl Guppy – Vice Chairman of International Business Council.
The delegation had a working session with the NT Ministry of Industry – Trade and Tourism, the two sides discussed a number of issues related to business priorities in the Vietnam – Northern Territory Investment Cooperation Plan in 2024, a number of preferential policies in building and construction projects of the Northern Territory Government for foreign investors. The meeting was attended by Mr. David Orr – Director of International Engagement, Mr. Martin Wildman – Senior project officer in trade strategy, Mr. Adam Robson – Manager of International Engagement, Mr. Simon Kubotaga – Assistant Director of Investment Territory, Mr. Angus Rolfe – Assistant Director of Project Support under the Ministry of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics.
In addition, the delegation also attended the Lunar Traditional Tet Celebration organized by the Vietnamese community in Palmerston City – Northern Territory on March 2, 2024. Also attending were Honorable Hugh Heggie – Administrator of the Northern Territory, Hon Eva Lawler – NT Chief Minister, Hon Dheran Young – Speaker of the NT Parliament, Hon Ngaree Ah Kit – Minister for Multicultural Affairs; Hon Joel Bowden – Minister for Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics, Mrs Marie Clare Boothby – Shadow Minister for Tourism, Mrs Jo Hersey – Shadow Minister for Arts – Culture and Heritage, Mr Kon Vatskalis – Mayor of Darwin, … and a large number of local partners and friends lived in Northern Territory.
